Description
This is the "Teaser" Quad for this Roger Moore film. Teasers or poster Advances, were produced in smaller quantities than the corresponding General Release posters & usually carried minimal artwork (often only text based). They were designed to heighten interest in advance of a film's launch but the bigger part of the advertising poster budget was reserved for the General Release poster. Normally, the same artist would be employed for both jobs to ensure consistency (& presumably to lower costs). Here the artwork is by the American artist Dan Goozee. Bond's exotic adversary, Grace Jones, is pictured back-to-back with Bond. It appears as if the poster composition matched reality: when asked for a comment about his co-star, Moore said, "I find if you can't find something positive to say about somebody you shouldn't say anything at all"! The red title text on this poster tends to cause red "rubbing" to the white background as a result of the poster being machine-folded prior to the ink being properly set but this is a rare example that has escaped this fate. This poster has been cleaned, de-acidified & linen-backed.
