Based on the "Miss Marple" character created by Agatha Christie, this is the Quad poster for the first in the series of four films to star Margaret Rurherford in the role of Christie's eccentric & indefatigable sleuth (the films spanning the period 1961-64). The poster design consists of a mixture of character photos & original artwork (a technique sometimes used in the 1950's & early 60's). The poster gives prominence not only to Margaret Rutherford but also to an image of the Agatha Christie novel (the novelists popularity ensuring public interest).
