Description
A film which created great controversy on release due to the depiction of a rape scene featuring Susan George. The Poster clearly indicates the presence of sex & violence, the partial image of Ms George having echoes of the Poster design for the earlier "Girl On A Motorcycle" (1968). Inspite of the sensationalist Press reaction to the film, this was a well crafted & taught psychological drama, the locals lusting after Susan George, played out against the (initially) naive acquiescence of her husband, played by Dustin Hoffman. Though Peckinpah set & filmed "Straw Dogs" in Cornwall, the locals adopted peculiar yet understandable accents (presumably the Cornish dialect being deemed impenetrable for domestic American audiences). Due to the white background, this is another Poster which is difficult to find in really good display condition. The Poster has been professionally cleaned, de-acidified & Linen-backed.
