Quad poster for this cult musical-comedy featuring "Saturday Night Live" members, Dan Akroyd & John Belushi. The Quad poster design was radically different to the US 1-Sheet poster (shown here courtesy of emovieposter.com). In the States, Dan Akroyd & John Belushi were established stars of the TV show "Saturday Night Live" & it was therefore more appropriate to feature them prominently in a photographic composition. The Quad poster by contrast takes a more impressionistic approach. The besuited dancing figures of Akroyd & Belushi on the Quad reminds one of  2-Tone fashions in the UK. Though the distinctive British re-interpretation of Jamaican Ska music does not feature in the film, music in the guise of  James Brown, Ray Charles, Cab Calloway, Aretha Franklin, Steve Cropper (ex-Booker T) etc packs a real impact. The nod to 2-Tone on the British poster was probably thought to be an acceptable enough musical hook.
