Poster for this 1959 British crime caper (possibly by the Italian artist Giuliano Nistri). The film follows the fortunes of a hapless crook (George Cole) & Terry-Thomas as a husband who is reluctant to pay up to free his wife from a kidnap. A host of other British comic actors appeared, including, Bernard Bresslaw, Sid James, Joe Melia, John Le Mesuirer, Nicholas Parsons etc. Following the ravages of WWII & the austerity years that followed through to the mid-1950's, light-hearted Comedies such as this, were in high demand. This poster has been cleaned, de-acidified & linen-backed.
